This is the pinnacle of Creole dining in Los Angeles. Harold & Belle's is a fancy restaurant, with food to match. The red beans and the gumbo are superb. Bring your appetite too, because the portions are Gargantuan. The staff is beyond friendly, the food is wonderful, and you're guaranteed a great meal in this place that's served the Creole community of Los Angeles for many years.Video

ELEGANCE IS THE STANDARD

Today was my first visit to this Louisana Creole Restaurant with true Southern hospitality and cuisine. The food was excellent and the excellent service was performed with pride and pleasure. A quality site and quality clientele added to the pleasure of this class A Restaurant. I will return and bring my family and friends to enjoy this experience.

Name: chanel | Date: February.01.2008 has great food and since I am NO it is really close to it. The po-boys are great and the fish, however, like many black restaurants the service needs work. You wait forever and when you ask for anything they act too busy or you asking for too much but, still want a big tip.

Name: nathan | Date: September.27.2007 Make sure you go to this restaurant hungry! The clam chowder here is a must. The po'boy sandwiches are the best I've ever had. I like mine open-face. Waitresses are friendly, professional and make you feel right at home. The decor reminds me of my grandmother's dining room.

Part 1. Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients
6 oz. semisweet cooking chocolate
1/3 cup milk
4 oz. (about 1/2 cup) finely granulated sugar
2 egg whites
1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions
Place chocolate in to top of a double boiler. Add the milk and heat slowly until chocolate is melted. The mixture should be fairly thick. Stir in sugar and let the mixture cool.
Beat two eggs whites until stiff and fold into the cooled chocolate mixture. Whip the heavy cream, fold into the mousse, and serve at once. Add more whipped cream if you desire a lighter consistency.
Note:
Recipe can be served with seasonal fruits, poached pears, berries and so on. Add a splash of dark rum or Kahlua if desired.
